    FAQ

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do I need a referral to access your service?
  • No. You can contact us directly to discuss your concerns.

  • What will happen in the first session?
  • During the initial visit your concerns will be discussed and an assessment will be carried out to identify any communication difficulties that your child may have. This is usually a fun and interactive session for your child. Following the assessment, we will discuss the best ways to support your child's communication development.

  • What happens in a therapy session?
  • Therapy sessions are fun and specifically tailored to meet the needs of your child. Sessions are usually 45 minutes long and generally provided on a weekly basis, however this may vary depending upon your child's needs and what works best for you. Strategies and resources will be provided to enable you to continue to support your child's communication at home between sessions - children make more rapid progress when they are encouraged and supported at home.

  • Are you able to liaise with my child's school/kindergarten?
  • Yes. With your permission information will be shared with your child's school, pre-school or other professionals that are involved. Sometimes visits may be carried out to your child's preschool or school and therapy sessions may take place there. Training sessions for teaching staff may also be provided.

  • How much does it cost?
  • Prices vary depending upon the length of the assessment and therapy sessions. Please contact us directly for further information.
